I learned to play tennis when I was still in Grade 4. It was a training camp for children from ages 8-16. After the training camp, a tournament was held for us beginners to test the skills we have achieved and to see who is the best of the batch. We were divided into two divisions, 8-12 and 13-16. Unfortunately I didn't win the tournament and was only in third place. I was still proud of myself for being on top of the others. The next year, I was selected to be on the varsity tennis team in the Elementary Division of John Bosco College. It served as my ticket to my future achievements. I started winning tournaments and was dedicated in my training and preparation with my father serving as my coach and trainer. When it was time for me to go to college, I got a scholarship at Colegio De San Juan De Letran in Manila. I transfered to another school in Cebu and still got a scholarship at University of San Jose-Recolletos. Unfortunately, I couldn't choose my course because athletic scholars are only provided limited course offers. So I had to transfer to another school which provides the course of my own choice. Now, I am back in my home town and study here. I still play tennis and maintains my conditioning to be prepared whenever a tournament is held.
